The Berlin Marathon is organized in the month of September every year. The first event was organized in the year 1974. Each year more than 50,000 runners from all over the world gather in this prestigious event and participate in this race. The marathon passes through some of the oldest buildings in Berlin, which stand witness to the rich German heritage. The current world record holder Dennis Kimetto reached the milestone in this event in 2014 before a crowd of 124,994 spectators.
